This program works in partnership with our education projects. Many of the women who are involved with our Life Skills Classes are also involved with our business development which is exciting because it is evidence of them grasping their role in the bigger picture of change and development in their lives, community, and country.
The desire to work is there, the desire to better their situation is there, but many lack the resources to accomplish their dreams. Through the SED Project women attend business classes and then can apply for interest free loans. These loans allow the women to begin a new business or expand a current business. Many of the women have agricultural businesses such as selling corn, yams, or nuts. Other women may sell or produce kerosene, cheese products, or soaps.
